MISS CONNECTICUT PAGEANT WEEK DAY 1 - ARRIVAL  The 24 Miss contestants and 22 Teen contestants arrived in New London on Tuesday for pageant week! The contestants jumped right into rehearsals after taking our welcome photo. At the end of the night I spoke to the contestants about what it will be like for the new Miss Connecticut and told them how proud I already am of each of them. I continued the tradition that Miss America 2011 Teresa Scanlan began this year. I removed 24 rhinestones from my crown and had them made into necklaces for each of the contestants to signify how much of a part each of them has played in my year. I also received one of the most incredible gifts I have ever seen. Miss Connecticut 2003, Marla Prete Spadaccino, created a memory blanket, which was made out of photos and t-shirts from my year!
